I wanted to set up a bunch of cool (federated) selfhostable services, for myself and others. I used to do this on lain.haus, but after a system failure it was time to start with a new identity.
Setup
Mostly split across 3 servers:
Helios
Hetzner Cloud VPS
1 Core / 2GB RAM / 20GB Disk
3 matrix-appservice-irc bridges, Mumble, reverse proxies all incoming traffic.
Luna
Hetzner Cloud VPS
1 Core / 2GB RAM / 20GB Disk
Legacy vps setup, VPN's all Terra outgoing traffic through Wireguard, Gitea.
Terra
Lenovo Y500 Laptop in my utility closet
8 Cores / 16GB RAM / 256GB + 512GB + 2TB + 3TB disk (it's complicated..)
Does all the heavy lifting, namely Matrix (Synapse) and Mastodon.
